SC stops Comelec in junking ABC partylist

THE High Court Tribunal on Thursday restrained the Commission on Elections (Comelec) from its ruling junking a partylist group which was complained to be linked with religious group “Ang Dating Daan.”

In a three page Resolution of the SC en banc, it issued a Status Quo Order against the Comelec en banc, headed by Chairman Sixto Brillantes, from invalidating the registration of Alliance of Barangay Concerns (ABC) Partylist for the 2013 national polls.

Inihayag ngayon ng Malacañang na Tagalog ang State of the Nation Address ng Pangulong Noynoy Aquino.

Sa ngayon, nilalagyan na ng ‘final touches’ ang mensahe ng Pangulo na iuulat sa taumbayan sa araw ng Lunes.

Sinabi ngayon ni Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Abigail Valte, batay sa kanyang nakita, Tagalog ang ginamit pero maari pa namang magbago bago i-deliver ng Pangulo.

Princess of the Stars tragedy (3 years after)

Tatlong taon matapos maganap ang trahedya, patuloy pa rin sa panawagan ng hustisya ang mga pamilya at kaanak ng mga biktima ng tinaguriang “Princess of the Stars” tragedy.

Isang programa ang isinagawa ngayong araw bilang pag-alala sa tinatayang nasa 800 pasahero na nasawi sa paglubog ng MV Princess of the Stars noong June 21, 2008 sa kasagsagan ng paghagupit ng bagyong Frank.

Ayon kay Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) chief, Atty. Percida Acosta, patuloy pa rin ang kanilang pagsusumikap na marekober ang mga skeletal remains ng maraming biktima sa loob ng barko.
